Giuliana Consilvioversione italiana

Giuliana Consilvio's
Biography

The Artist, born in Milan, she trained at the "Accademia di Brera" (High School of Art) in Milan, then she attended the "Grafic Arts Institute" of Urbino.
She works in Milan where she also runs a school-workshop sited in a new "Barona Village" (an original scheme promoted and carried out by Fondazione Attilio e Teresa Cassoni), Via Ettore Ponti, 21 -under the arcades- Tel. +39 02.89128653.
In fact the artist is deeply concerned with the contrasting aspects of her native background: both her graphic and pictorial production gives us outstandingly expressionistic images synthetizing the contradictions and conflicts of modern life and the rarefied atmosphere of the lombard landscape.

She carried on with her artistic research perfecting the old techniques of calcography, litography and xilography and using all kinds of engraving techniques.
The whole Consilvio's care is dedicated to painting, drawing, etching (more than 500 plates), ceramics, photography.

She has taken part in many exhibitions in Italy and abroad. Papers, magazines, critical presentations and many specialized catalogues, such as "Fumo e stelle cadenti" (1983) by Rossana Bossaglia and "Giuliana Consilvio: il segno dipinto" by Francesco Solmi (1989) document her activity.
